COVID CONTACT ISOLATION DAY 2 (12/17/21)

DAY 2 Friday Dec. 17, 2021 9:00 A.M. I woke up late this morning regretting spending it in the bed with my wife. Not words I ever thought I would hear myself say or think. 9:01 A.M. After reading a few texts from some male colleagues I realized I was probably the only one not self-isolating from their wife. That changes NOW. I gather a few items from the bedroom, a couple of books to read, my back pain creams, MacBook and heating pad and I head downstairs (A.K.A. my new home for the next few days). I figure my office is my "safe" place with lots of entertainment options. However, with no bed downstairs I will need the couch for a bed. The unfortunate part is this means both my wife and mother-in-law will have to remain upstairs for the duration (or at least avoid these two areas of the house). Our laundry room, deep freeze, storage room are located on the same level as I am and will need to be accessed by them occasionally. I will use the downstairs bathroom but it does not have a shower or bath. We will have to work that out eventually. I started this blog this morning. I went back over the course of yesterday to create the first entry. Today will include a COVID test (my first of three) at 3:30 P.M. @ the Waterford Hospital drive thru location. I will require some clothes from upstairs before I leave the house. In fact I will get my wife to bundle up some items to drop down to me. Hoping for a COVID - test result today! Fingers crossed! First Isolation Meal Delivered: Homemade turky soup, turkey sandwich, crisps and apricot loaf! Winner!!
From a physical standpoint I did wake with a headache this morning. But that has been my norm for a while now. 2:30 P.M. Public Update: 46 New Cases Today! 3:13 P.M. COVID test that was scheduled was completed a few minutes earlier as I arrived early. Very quick process and not as uncomfortable as I imagined. The weather was not very good though driving to and fro. In St. John's /Mt. Pearl area it was blowing snow. Near white out conditions in some areas. Safely home and isolating again. 4:55 P.M. School closed next week. Students encouraged to pick up their belongings next week.
